I’d hate to learn English as a second language simply because of weird stuff like ‘hotbed’ being one word and ‘hot tub’ being two words. Where’s the logic in that?
an area having rails or rolls on which rolled pieces are laid to cool.
hot·bed, n., v., -bed·ded, -bed·ding.
1. a bottomless, boxlike, usually glass-covered structure and the bed of earth it covers, heated typically by fermenting manure or electrical cables, for growing plants out of season.
2. a place or environment favoring rapid growth or spread, esp. of something disliked or unwanted: a hotbed of disease.
3. Slang. a bed shared by two or more persons in shifts, each sleeping in it for or at a designated time and then vacating it for the next occupant.
4. Slang. to share a bed in shifts, so that it is always occupied.
[1620–30; HOT + BED]
Hot tub: a wooden tub, usually large enough to accommodate several persons, that is filled with hot aerated water and often equipped with a thermostat and whirlpool: used for recreation or physical therapy and often placed out of doors, as on a porch.
People may place plants in a hotbed, whereas people plant themselves in a hot tub. How confusing is that to someone learning English.
A hot tub can also be a hotbed of disease if not properly maintained.
I made the words ‘hotbed’ and ‘hot tub’ while working on my next word puzzle ebook. It is a 6-letter word ebook and I was making as many 6-letter words as I could from the phrase “ODD ABOUT THE”. (I found 16 six-letter words. Try it yourself and see how many you find using each letter only once.)
I’ve just published my second 5-letter puzzle ebook, “More 5-Letter Word Puzzles”.
This new word puzzle ebook has 320 new words and phrases to test your word knowledge and really give your brain a workout.
The challenge? You try to make as many 5-letter words from a word or phrase I give you, then compare your words with the ones I found. Each puzzle has the number of words I found, but sometimes the smaller number of words are the hardest to solve. My 5-letter word puzzles and my 4-letter word puzzles really give your brain a good workout, while increasing your word knowledge and your heart beat.

I was working on my next 5-letter word puzzle ebook when I decided to change gears and go political. I thought, “How many 5-letter words can I make from Romney?”
Well the answer is; one, and it fits his Republican beliefs very well.
The only 5-letter word I could find in ROMNEY is MONEY.
If you enjoy word games you would have fun solving my 4-letter word puzzles, or my more 4-letter word puzzles, or my 5-letter word puzzles available at all leading online ebook retailers. Just search for “Ted Summerfield” and you’ll find them.

Easy puzzles have most of the letters of the alphabet given to you as a guide to solving the puzzle. Medium and Hard levels have fewer and fewer letters provided as a guide.

It has taken me almost one year but I am closing in on the last few words in my next 4-letter words puzzle ebook.
More 4-Letter Word Puzzles will contain 320 words and word phrases like my existing 4-letter and 5-letter word puzzles ebooks, but this new puzzle book will have more word phrases. When I created the puzzle ebooks I knew there were people out there much smarter than I who would find solutions I missed. This page (More words for puzzle ebooks) allows them to add their new solutions to the ones I provided in the ebooks.
Readers have downloaded my puzzle ebooks from most major retailers, including Apple, Sony, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, Smashwords, and in a variety of formats like PDF, epub, and mobi. Smashwords has all my ebooks in all formats in one place, which is convenient for readers.
I checked the different retailers selling my ebooks for any current reviews and was pleasantly surprised.
My $0.99 5-letter words puzzle ebook got this response on May 19, and 5 stars too, on Barnes and Noble:

Today I’ve put a new face on my blog by adding a new header and using a new theme. I’ve also added images of my ebooks on the right side of the page, which will link to free samples of my ebooks, including my children’s coloring ebooks which contain both color and black and white pictures, when a visitor clicks on an image of an ebook.
The blog is flexible and ‘should’ display better on mobile devices.
