Dog killer teaching hat making to children in New Westminster

A dog killer is teaching children in New Westminster and surrounding municipalities/cities as recently as this month. Parents should be aware of who is teaching their children or coming in contact with their children. Few if any publicly funded art groups, art councils, festival organizations or civic groups take the time to vet those hired or volunteering to come in contact with children or the public.

While arts councils and the general public may not think there is anything wrong hiring a dog killer to teach children it is up to each parent to decide who teaches their children.

It only takes a few seconds to check the Internet for information on someone coming into contact with your child or children.

Pet killer arrested for breaching probation

pet killer

Pet killer Kayla Bourque, who a judge has described as “psychopathic” and a “sexual sadist,” was arrested Thursday for allegedly breaching conditions of her release from jail.

In 2013, B.C. Corrections issued a rare public notification to alert the public that Bourque had been released from jail with plans to live in Vancouver.

Bourque has offended violently against both people and animals and is considered high risk to re-offend, according to the Ministry of Justice.

She was arrested in March 2012 after she boasted of disemboweling and dismembering her cat and told a friend she fantasized about shooting a homeless person or killing someone in residence at Simon Fraser University.

Reading this story about Bourque reminds me of two other dog killers, Brian Whitlock and Liz Summerfield.

Brian Whitlock was sent to jail for beating his dog and leaving him for dead in a dumpster in 2012. A couple of years later Whitlock was charged with murder of woman at her Dunbar home

The other dog killer, Liz Summerfield, escaped charges. She simply lied to the South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital when she told them the dog with her had been ordered by the Post Office to be put down because the dog had bitten a postal worker. The Post Office never ordered the dog put down.
<>
Liz Summerfield had the family dog put to death during a series of court orders demanding she turn over to the divorce court bank records as to what she had done with the very large amount of money she’d removed from their joint accounts just prior to her filing for divorce. She refused to comply with any of the multiple court orders.
<>
Liz had removed the dog from the family home prior to her husband being served divorce papers. She refused to allow him to see his dog or any of the other two dogs she removed. The dog she killed was a Rottweiler/German Shepard cross her husband had rescued from the New Westminster Animal Shelter.

Woman murders dog during divorce

a lantern affair hat by liz

A British Columbia woman who teaches arts and crafts, puppetry, heritage hat making and other classes to children in Burnaby, Maple Ridge, Langley, Surrey, Vancouver, Whistler and other areas took an innocent family pet to a local vet and had it killed during a lengthy divorce.

The Rottweiler/German Shepard cross was killed during the time of the divorce proceedings when the woman refused to comply with multiple court orders to turn over financial records of the large amount of money she had removed from their joint account prior to filing for divorce..

The dog was just a few years old, hardly more than a youngster, and was adopted from a local dog pound by the now ex-husband. The woman, Liz Summerfield, had removed his dog from the family home and refused to disclose where she had taken the animal.

The actions of a woman who takes an innocent animal and hides it from its owner then lies and has it killed say something about the person.

As does the fact during the weeks of extensive questioning about the money she had removed prior to filing for divorce, Liz Summerfield refused to comply with multiple court orders to disclose what she had done with the vast amount of money missing.

Lying, refusing to comply with court orders, psychological abuse of not disclosing whereabouts of dog she stole,  these all help paint a picture of the dog killer.

Liz Summerfield took the family dog from where she had hidden it to the South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital and lied to the staff about the dog biting a post office person, saying she had been ordered by the post office to have the dog put down.

The post office never filed a complaint against the family pet, the South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital never checked with the post office to see if there was such an order, and the Hospital never checked with the registered owner of the family pet, the husband, who had been taking his dog to that Hospital since adopting him.

Liz Summerfield simply lied in order to have a family pet killed.

Liz may be welcomed to teach children by various community centers in BC, invited to attend festivals and art camps to teach children, and parents may well want her to teach their children, moreover, even readers of this post may see nothing wrong with a woman who lies and kills an innocent animal teaching their children. I just feel that, as a public service to parents, they have the right to know something about the people who are teaching their children, and I suggest parents Google the names of anyone teaching or instructing their children as a precaution.

Special place in hell for those who harm children and animals

Some festivals or community centers offering activities for children don’t show who is teaching their children. Vancouver, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Haney, Maple Ridge, New Westminster, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Langley, Whistler and other areas often hold activities for children during the year. As a precaution, parents should phone and ask who the instructor is and then check the Internet for any information which could be of interest to a parent.

Just last year B.C. Corrections issued a public notification after a pet-killer, described by a judge as a “psychopathic and narcissistic … sexual sadist,” was released from jail with plans to live in Vancouver.

The City of Vancouver hired a Hells Angel without too much – if any – background check. Would you want your child taught by someone without a background check of any kind?

BCSPCA warned of dog killer.

Updated April 4, 2012.

If you love animals or care about cruelty to animals then please consider joining supporting your local SPCA or other animal rights organization.

My heart almost stopped when my son told me that his mother, Liz Summerfield, had taken my dog Punzhu to the South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital to be killed. Liz had told the veterinary clinic that Punzhu had bitten a postman and she’d been ordered to have Punzhu put down. This turned out to be a lie.

I checked with the post office and found out that Punzhu was with Liz outside her mother’s house when the postman approached. According to the postman and the post office, the postman did not file a complaint nor did the post office order Liz to destroy Punzhu.

I was very upset that the South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital killed my dog without any written documentation from the Post Office. They killed my dog on the verbal advice of my now former wife, who simply lied to them.

Below is part of a letter, which was mailed to SPCA branches in the lower mainland, prepared by my lawyer after checking the facts.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

About four years ago I adopted a dog from the Animal Control Pound in New Westminster.

In October of 1995, my ex-wife, Elizabeth Summerfield, separated from me and left the family home, taking my dog with her. I asked my ex-wife where the dog was but she refused to tell me. I learned at the end of November, 1995, that she had had the dog euthanized at South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital on November 16, 1995.

I hope that you will not consider Elizabeth Summerfield (who may revert to her maiden name of Elizabeth Gray) as a potential adopter of animals from the SPCA in future.

Yours truly,

Ted Summerfield

Years ago I started making puzzles and called them Punzhu Puzzles after my dog, who died so very young and so needlessly. It is my hope the SPCA will remember the letter I mailed and not consider Liz Summerfield, aka Elizabeth Summerfield or Elizabeth Gray, as a potential adopter of animals in the future.

It was during our divorce Liz lied to the South Burnaby Veterinary Clinic in order to have my dog killed. Liz had my dog killed during the time she had refused several court orders to provide information on what she had done with the large sum of money she had removed from our joint bank accounts.

Fearing for the safety of my son, and what she might do to the other dogs and cats she had taken from our home, I immediately settled the divorce.

Maple Ridge Arts Council hires dog killer

Shortly after my wife Liz Summerfield filed for divorce, my son told me she’d killed my dog during the time she was being questioned extensively in court about all the money missing from our bank account. I can’t remember if it was the fourth, fifth or sixth time the courts had asked her to provided bank records explaining the massive amount of missing funds, but it was sometime around then when she killed my dog.

My lawyer was shocked at my soon-to-be ex-wife killing an innocent animal, and after verifying the account of the killing she prepared a letter for me about Liz killing my dog.

Liz is now teaching children at Place des Arts and other facilities and festivals in the BC region, including this one at Maple Ridge Arts Council. I believe it is important for parents to know some background about the people teaching their children.
